Terms and conditions

Last updated 12 September 2026

The short version. Checking artwork is free and always will be. A plan buys you a number of print-ready PDFs each month. Artwork Fixer tells you what it can measure in a file — it cannot promise the finished job will print correctly, and the proof you approve at the printer is still the one that counts.

1. Who you are contracting with

This service is operated by We Do Print, of:

77 Aldwick Close, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 8LL

VAT registration number: GB516987839

Artwork Fixer is a trading name of We Do Print. You can reach us at [email protected]. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean We Do Print, and "you" means the business using the service.

2. These terms are for business customers

Artwork Fixer is sold to businesses — printers, designers, studios and people preparing artwork in the course of a trade. By subscribing you confirm you are buying for business purposes and not as a consumer.

That distinction matters, because consumers have statutory rights, including a right to cancel within fourteen days, that do not apply to business purchases. If you are buying as a private individual rather than for a business, please email us before subscribing rather than agreeing to these terms.

3. What the service does

Artwork Fixer reads a PDF, PNG or JPEG and reports on six things: page size, bleed, crop marks, image resolution, embedded fonts and colour mode. It can then produce a print-ready PDF with bleed and crop marks added and, for images, colour converted to CMYK.

Your file is read inside your own browser and is never uploaded to us. We never receive, see or store your artwork. This is a design decision, not a policy we could change quietly — the checking runs as code on your own computer.

4. What the service does not do

This is the most important clause here, so it is written plainly rather than in capitals.

Artwork Fixer is a tool to help you catch common problems. It is not a guarantee that a file will print correctly, and it is not a substitute for a printer's own pre-flight or for checking a proof.

You remain responsible for the artwork you send to print and for approving the proof. We are not responsible for reprint costs, missed deadlines or wasted stock arising from a file you supplied to a printer.

5. Your account

You need an account to download a print-ready PDF. Checking and reading the report need no account at all.

There is no password: you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keeping access to that inbox secure is therefore how you keep your account secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.

An account is for one business. Please do not share sign-in codes or resell access.

6. Plans, allowances and payment

Plans are monthly subscriptions. Each one includes a number of print-ready PDF downloads per month:

PlanPrice per monthDownloads per month
BasicFree, with an email address1
Standard£10 plus VAT6
Pro£25 plus VAT25
Trade Account£49 plus VAT100

All prices exclude VAT, which is added at checkout at the rate applying to your location. If you are a business in the EU with a valid VAT number, you can enter it at checkout and the reverse charge will apply.

An allowance covers the month it belongs to. Unused downloads do not carry over, and the allowance resets on your renewal date. Checking a file and reading its report never uses an allowance, on any plan.

Payment is taken by Stripe when you subscribe and on each monthly renewal. We never see or hold your card details.

7. Changing plan, and cancelling

You can change plan or cancel at any time from your account page, which opens Stripe's billing portal. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep your remaining allowance until then.

Because these are business terms, we do not refund part months. If something has gone wrong, email us — we would rather sort it out than stand behind a clause.

8. Changing prices and plans

We may change prices or what a plan includes. If a change affects a subscription you already hold, we will tell you by email at least thirty days beforehand, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

9. Acceptable use

Please do not use the service to process unlawful material, attempt to break or overload it, work around the allowance, or resell access. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why.

10. Intellectual property

Your artwork remains entirely yours. We acquire no rights in it whatsoever — which follows naturally from never receiving it. The finished PDF the tool produces is yours to use however you wish.

The website, its wording and the software behind it remain ours.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the service running and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of it. If we withdraw a paid service altogether we will refund the unused part of anything you have paid in advance.

One useful consequence of the design: because checking runs in your browser, an open page keeps working even if our servers do not.

12. Our liability to you

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

Subject to that, and because this is a business-to-business agreement:

We are not liable for problems caused by your own equipment or connection, by files that are corrupt or unusual, or by a printer's requirements we have no way of knowing.

13. Your data

What we hold, why, and who else is involved is set out in our privacy policy. In short: an email address, a plan, a count, and a record of downloads. Never your artwork.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects a subscription you hold, we will email you before it takes effect.

15. General

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Failing to enforce something is not a waiver of it. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
